Excellent condition original US Winchester Model 1917 M1917 30-06 cal. No rebuilt or arsenal stamps can be found on the stock, it has its original finish, is unmarked as an import, has a nice bore, and is in good working condition. W markings are present on the receiver, stock, bolt, bayonet lug, front, and rear sights. The vast majority of these weapons were mismatched or parkerized prior to World War 2. The rifle would have 97-98 percent bluing if it weren't for the wear on the floorplate. Finding a rifle of this sort in its original condition is quite unusual.

We discovered this original rear sight on a Smith & Wesson 320 revolving rifle a number of years ago. The replacement parts inventory from the Smith and Wesson Factory was released in a collection that includes a sizeable amount of them. Bins upon bins of New Old Stock components were there, some dating as far back as S&W No. 1, 2nd Issue Revolvers from the 1860s. But the majority of it dates from the early to mid-20th century. There was so much of it that these guys were having trouble identifying it all and a gunsmith friend of mine was helping them out. they are impossible to find and production was extremely limited. This sight was the only one they had. Aside from being in storage for over 100+ years and coming into contact with other parts, it was almost brand new, having never been installed on a gun. Smith and Wesson only produced 977 Model 320 Revolving Rifles. Here is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to pick up one up..
